Skardu ValleySkardu, capital of Baltistan, is perched 2450 meters above sea level in the backdrop of the great peaks of the Karakoram mountain range.skardu is linked to the national capital of Islamabad by PIA which operates regular Boeing and Fokker flights. The air journey is full of thrills and would itself be regarded as the highlight of the visit.after following the same air route which connects Gilgit to Islamabad, the plane turns right and flies over the gorge of the Indus river.Enormous rock faces rise on either side and at times it seems as if the wingtips of the plane would almost scrape against them.they never do.

Khaplu Valley

Khaplu is the administrative capital of the Ghanche District of Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan.Lying 103 km east of the town of Skardu, it was the second-largest kingdom in old Baltistan of Yabgo dynasty. It guarded the trade route to Ladakh along the Shyok River. Khaplu Valley is 103 kilometers from Skardu and two hours by jeep. It is a sprawling village located at the confluence of the Indus and the Shyok Rivers in Pakistan. Khaplu is a base for trekking into the Hushe valley which leads to Masherbrum mountains. Many famous mountains, such as Masherbrum, K-6, K-7, Sherpi Kangh, Sia Kangri, Saltoro Kangri and Siachen etc. are located there.

Shigar Valley

The Shigar Valley is a valley in Baltistan in northern Pakistan that is watered by the Shigar River. The valley stretches about 170 km from Skardu to Askole and is the gateway to the high mountains of the Karakoram. The town of Shigar is the largest settlement in valley. Even though the Shigar Valley is a remote and largely inaccessible place, there are several villages in the valley. Askole is the last settlement in the Shigar Valley, which is still far from the high mountains.
